Cultural Committees
Hutt River, Mullewa Wadjari, Southern Yamatji, and Widi Mob Native Title Claim Group negotiated an alternative settlement that resulted in Yamatji Nation Indigenous Land Use Agreement (ILUA).
Being part of the Cultural Committee is a great opportunity to get involved and represent your community!
As a representative, you are expected to contribute advice on important topics and issues such as:
Proposed Management Plans: Contribute to new or amended management plans for the Yamatji Conservation Estate.
Lands, Water, and Heritage: Share insights on the stewardship of our natural and cultural resources.
Cultural & Community Expectations: Help shape the future of our community by voicing cultural and communal needs.
You don't need to be a member of the Yamatji Southern Regional Corporation (YSRC) to join your Cultural Committee. If you're a descendant of apical ancestors with a traditional connection to the ILUA agreement area, you are eligible to apply when positions become available.
Cultural Committees ensure that the ‘right people for country’ are involved in planning and engaging with our community. Our representatives are expected to be available to attend all meetings throughout the year, providing a consistent and committed voice for our people.
